Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

UV Protection

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

Renewable

Total Easy Care (TEC) Merino apparel is designed for today's busy lifestyle. Total Easy Care Merino garments are all machine-washable, and are suitable for tumble drying.

Even after frequent laundering they retain an 'as new' appearance. They won't shrink, lose their shape, fade or color-bleed. They remain soft and comfortable for the life of the garment.

Best But Imperfect

Without a doubt the best balaclava you can boy online, better than the expedition weight one because this is still breathable even when wet, other merino wool balaclavas are inferior in design. Other non-merino balaclavas use inferior fabric that aren't as fine or they are plastic.

The only negative of this balaclava is that it has 1 large hole fo rthe eyes. There are plastic balaclavas which have a 2 hole design for the individual eyes or a 3 hole for the eyes and mouth so they have a superior design, they're only inferior because they're made of plastic.

A merino wool balaclava with a 2 hole or 3 hole design would be good. This 1 large hole leaves a lot of skin exposed especially when you're moving a lot and the bottom slides lower down your cheekbones and nose.

Perfect Fit!

The balaclava is well made with quality materials.

Made in Vietnam

The tag boldly states “made in Vietnam”. I thought this product was made in the States. I could have gotten one at Walmart if I wanted something made in Vietnam. Don’t know if going to keep. So disappointed

We apologize for your disappointment in where this item is currently being manufactured. We try our best to be clear on which items are manufactured here in the United States. Which at this time is only our Mountain Heritage line of socks. We will gladly set up a return for you if you'd like. A current goal of ours here at Minus33, is to re-shore as much of our manufacturing as possible in the coming years. The start of this, was the purchasing of our first four sock machines which are currently up and running here in Ashland, NH. In addition, we currently have more machines on the way to increase the variety of socks that we can manufacture here at our facility. Beyond that, we have plans to continue the remodeling of the original L.W Packard mill to include more machines, for more items to be made here in New Hampshire.
